Born in 1959 in the Dordogne, Daniel CASTAN has been drawing since his youngest age.

Graduated from the Beaux Arts in Bordeaux, he worked initially as a graphic designer. He quickly founded his company and worked for important organizations such as UNICEF, Pierre BALMAIN, the UN or ZIPPO.

But at the age of forty, tired of this stressful life, free of gratitude and finally of the creation he was looking for, he decided to leave everything to paint.

Little by little, the gesture asserts itself and the work of Daniel CASTAN evolves rapidly. Very soon the photographs are no longer of any use to him, and it is now an imaginary urban world, fantasized that he treats on the canvas, it can also be Venice and recently portraits.

He is a painter like a man of the moment, on the spot. He lives his life and his painting daily, with rigor and freedom.
