Birth date : 1968
David C is a Belgian artist born on August 20, 1968 in Brussels. After a few correspondence courses and a flash pass to the academy, he decided to give free rein to his self-taught inspiration. At first, David is particularly interested in oil painting for its texture and slow drying. Then he tries new mediums: acrylic, graphite, pastels, paper mache and even airbrush. After 15 years of testing and researching his own style, David C. is increasingly interested in digital art and its infinite possibilities. Nevertheless, he does not want to give up the "old" method: the pencil and the blank sheet. This is how he will find a fair compromise that will allow him to continue to draw and paint while using digital for part of the work. Alfons (fictional character created by the artist) is a representation of the human with its qualities and its faults, an introspection on the deep human nature, the desire to be different from the others or on the contrary to mingle in the mass . The goal of David C.'s approach is positive and always optimistic whatever the theme. In a stressful society, art is also there to appease, to smile, to distract from everyday life. Technical: The drawing is always done in pencil on paper, inked then scanned to be colorized numerically. Then the printed drawing is taken with different mediums (graphite, watercolor, acrylic, watercolor pencils, ...) and then worked in 3D on polystyrene.
